Custom Design Policy

At Engel Fine Design, we create bespoke jewelry that reflects your personal style and story. From your initial Custom Design Request form through our CAD-first process and final handcrafted piece, our goal is a seamless, transparent experience.

Inquiry Form

• All custom-design leads complete our online Custom Design Request form, providing your vision, specifications, reference images, budget, and desired timeline.

Consultation

• Phone or video calls are available, and in-store consultations are recommended for the best experience.
• We'll schedule a 30–60 minute session to clarify any details before CAD work begins.

• We skip hand sketches and dive straight into CAD. You'll receive a secure live-view link.

Two-Phase Approval

1. Rough Layout: stone placement, ring shape, basic proportions—you must approve before we add details.
2. Final Details Presentation: engraving, millgrain, textures, filigree, etc.

Revisions

• Three complimentary revision rounds after the Final Details presentation.
• A fourth (and any beyond) incurs a $50 fee per round.

• Amount: $100, included in your total quote (credited toward your balance).
• Purpose: Covers designer time, digital modeling, and CAD file creation.
• Payment: Applied to final balance; no separate upfront charge.

Design Ownership & Usage

• Engel Fine Design retains full copyright and ownership of all CAD files, models, renderings, and final design concepts created during the custom design process.
• By commissioning a custom piece, the client acknowledges that the resulting design is the intellectual property of Engel Fine Design.
• Engel Fine Design may reproduce, modify, or re-release any custom design at our discretion.
• If a client desires a guaranteed one-of-one or exclusive design that will never be reproduced, this must be requested before the design process begins and may involve additional fees.

Definitions

• Custom Design: A piece created to a client's specifications, which may be reproduced or offered in future collections.
• One-of-One / One-of-a-Kind Design: A piece intentionally created as exclusive and guaranteed not to be recreated or reproduced. These projects may require premium pricing and contractual confirmation.

Detailed Quote

• Mounting: covers metal cost, casting-house fees (as quoted), handling, and inbound shipping.
• Stones & Labor: itemized separately.
• Validity: 30 days from issue date.

Approval

• Sign off on the final CAD rendering and quote via email or e-signature.
• Upon approval, the project moves into deposit and production scheduling.

• Amount: 50% of total project cost.
• Due: At CAD approval to secure materials and vendor slots.
• Non-Refundable: Covers material procurement and vendor commitments.

• Design & Approval: up to 2 weeks
• Casting: up to 2 weeks
• Finishing, Stone-Setting & Photo Documentation: up to 2 weeks
• Total: approximately 6 weeks from CAD approval to delivery (vendor load may affect timing).
• Delays: Any supply-chain or vendor delays will be communicated promptly with an updated timeline.

• Balance: Remaining 50% due before pick-up or shipment.
• Ring Sizing: Multiple size adjustments free of charge if needed.
• Shipping: Fully insured; local pick-up available.

• Before Deposit: Full refund of any fees paid.
• After Deposit: Deposit covers incurred costs; any surplus refunded.
• After Casting Begins: Custom pieces cannot be canceled.

Size Adjustments

• Ring size adjustments free within 7 days of delivery.

• [efd] Certificate of Authenticity provided with every piece.
• Metal Hallmarks: All pieces stamped (e.g., 14K, 18K).

Diamond Reports

• Lab Diamonds & New Naturals: GIA or IGI report + laser inscription.
• Second-Hand Naturals: May not include original certification.

• One-Year Warranty against manufacturing defects (loose stones, broken prongs, casting flaws).
• Exclusions: Normal wear, misuse, loss, or unauthorized repairs.
• Care Instructions: Provided with each piece; annual professional cleaning recommended.

• Stone Availability: If your selected stone becomes unavailable, we'll recommend an equivalent or issue a credit.

• Confidentiality: All designs and client details are kept strictly confidential.
• Disputes: Any unresolved issues will be mediated through the Arkansas Board of Jewelry Appraisers.
